POLY V BELTS
This is a flat flexible drive belt with longitudinal V ribs which match the multiple grooved pulleys and provide a strong, very flexible, oil and heat resistant grip on the pulleys. These belts need higher tensions than normal fan belts to avoid slip.
Description
The “PK” section is predominantly used in recently manufactured motor vehicles as the latest in “fan belt” technology. This is a flat flexible drive belt with longitudinal V ribs which match the multiple grooved pulleys and provide a strong, very flexible, oil and heat resistant grip on the pulleys. These belts need higher tensions than normal fan belts to avoid slip.
Normal lifespan of 100 000km on most modern vehicles.
The number before the letter “PK” denotes the belt’s number of longitudinal ribs, e.g. 4.
“PK” denotes the belt profile which matches with the vehicles pulleys.
The number after “PK” is the belt circumference within a few millimeters e.g. 1520.
